3 Documents In a Lifetime

 

Believe it or not, most of us are bound to use three (3) types of documents in our lifetime. It's not really a fact, but at present most Filipinos use these types of documents. So, I can say that we will use these documents. And I think that no matter what our stats in life we would, we will, and we will be using these documents. It just depends on the situation on how and when we will use these essential papers.

The three (3) documents.

Intriguing but I think we are bound to use these vital papers in our life. I believe these papers are essential in describing our existence and absence. So, what are these documents - the Birth Certificate, the Marriage Certificate, and the Death Certificate.

As I mention, these papers tell our story. From the time we are born until we get married, and later on in the final chapter of our lives. From birth to death.

The Birth Certificate is the document that will prove or disprove our existence. In a birth certificate, we have the information about our parents - the name of our father and mother, where they live, and their birth dates too. This certificate is essential and needed from the time we are all born. It is in demand and the most requested document. It starts from elementary to high school to college, and even up to the time that we work, it is needed.

Of course, our documentation system is not perfect as it is. Take for example, those who are born in the 40s and 50s. Some places don't have access to a documentation system and proper health care. So, most of our ancestors or the lolos and lolas prefer to have their childbearing at home, most of the time they forget to register their children. That is why there is so-called late registration.

The Marriage Certificate. I think this document, whether single or married, we'll be needing it in some circumstances like school, work, and claiming the inheritance.

In school, students present the Marriage Certificates of their parents to prove that they are sons and daughters. While at work, it is requested to prove if you're married or not. For inheriting properties, it is a requirement to present the individual as the rightful heir.

The Death Certificate. Probably one of the documents that we don't want, but reality bites that at the end of it all we will end up having it or rather our heirs will have to secure it. For me, well I just recently, secure my father's death certificate needed for the claims and other things.

Interestingly, today with the presence of technology and the internet, our lives are easy. We get things in a flash, fast, and efficiently. I remember the day when the internet is not yet available. Of course, before doing anything else always read the details and other things that we think are important to know. By the way, whatever button we click, we'll end up on the "order now" page.

• 3. On the order page, we'll have four (4) options - BIRTH, MARRIAGE, CENOMAR, and DEATH. Since the platform only allows one transaction at a time, pick what we need most. Don't forget to tick the "I accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy," then click "Continue".

• 4. We'll be asked if we're requesting our Own Certificate or Someone Else's. Then, click again the "Continue" button.

• 5. Since we're requesting my parents' CENOMAR, we will have the CENOMAR. As we continue we'll be requested to prepare the following information for easy reference. It is better to have it with us when filling in the form.

1. Name, sex, birthday, and valid government-issued ID.
2. Name as it appears on your birth certificate
3. Father's name
4. Mother's name
5. Birthplace
6. Late registration (if applicable)
7. The purpose of the request
8. Legal proceedings (if applicable)
9. Delivery address and contact information

• 6. After preparation, we're all set to fill out the form. Make sure all the information we provide is correct, especially the government-issued ID, because they'll be asking for that ID when they deliver it.

• 7. Once completed, we'll be asked to check if all are correct. Then, we will select the number of copies we want to have and their price. It varies depending on the document type. For us is the CENOMAR which is Php420.00 per copy (for the Birth Certificate, it is Php365.00 per copy). Confirm and continue.

• 8. A list of payment options will be presented. We'll have the option to pay the requested document to the following:

1. Credit Card
2. GCash
3. PayMaya
4. 7-Eleven
5. Bayad Center
6. Palawan pawnshop
7. Bancnet
8. Dragonpay

• 9. After paying the amount required for the requested document, a receipt with the details of PSAHelpline, being the agent for the said transaction, will be provided.

• 10. Wait for the delivery. Sometimes it may take time but the good news is that we don't have to go through the hassle of getting our copy. In just 2-3 days we'll have our document delivered to us.
