Monday Rush: Simbang Gabi

Christmas is in the air.
The first day of Simbang Gabi falls on a Monday!  My problem I think I won't be completing the Simbang Gabi for this year... again.  I prefer to enjoy it in our church much livelier and more soothing.  You really get the message and get to internalize it as well.

Anyway as most of the Filipino people are preparing for the much awaited Noche Buena, Simbang Gabi comes first and today is the start of the Simba which means worship.  It is a Filipino tradition of attending church 9 days before Christmas.  There are dawn service and also evening service but before it is only evening service that's why it is called Simbang Gabi.  Later on some churches made dawn services to give way to others to go to church right before they went to their respective offices.  Pinoys does the Simbang Gabi as preparation for the day of Christmas.  If there's a 12 Days of Christmas, Pinoys have the 9 Simbang Gabi.  Yes the simbang gabi goes until the eve of Christmas.

For some they say that completing the 9 Simbang Gabi makes your wish come true but for us Christians every day is a dream come true and God makes it happen.

It's Monday Rush but no need to rush going to church.  Take your time but be sure to be there on time.

How was your first day of the Simbang Gabi?
